PEOPLE

The spread of a Mediterranean lifestyle, with its values of
sustainability, conviviality, inclusivity, and respect for diversity, enables us to
promote happiness and well-being for those who embrace its principles.

Creating a work environment focused on inclusivity, professional growth, and the improvement of the quality of the ingredients we select; reducing waste; strengthening the supply chain and production processes; and collaborating with carefully selected suppliers who share our values and goals.

People are at the heart of everything Miscusi does

Miscusi promotes an open dialogue with employees, valuing their health, safety and personal growth, with equal opportunities for all. The company is proud of its young, diverse workforce, which benefits from pay that reflects responsibilities and an inclusion program for people with disabilities. To support ongoing development, Miscusi offers an online learning platform that includes mandatory courses, optional lessons and soft skills training, to foster the professional growth of every team member.

Benefits and Wellness Programs

To reinforce our ongoing commitment to people's wellbeing, the well-established benefits programs that are dear to MISCUSI have been renewed for 2024. Among these are the free psychological support program and the 'Pasto in Famiglia' initiative: to give even more meaning to the corporate value of 'family', MISCUSI encourages all its employees to share lunch with colleagues, at highly subsidized terms, creating a moment of sharing and team building and ensuring their wellbeing through a nutritionally balanced and varied lunch.\r
All these initiatives are of great value to MISCUSI, which believes in the concept of family and in the potential of shared wellbeing; for this reason these programs will always be guaranteed for employees in the coming years, during which the Company intends to grow together with its employees.\r

Well-being and ongoing dialogue

When we talk about well-being, we start with listening and feedback; processes have been put in place to ensure ongoing dialogue between people and managers; in fact, at least quarterly, a moment for discussion is guaranteed at every level, where performance and opportunities for mutual improvement are shared. Every six months, the Climate Survey is shared, providing an anonymous opportunity for all MISCUSI employees to share their views. All possible opportunities for improvement are taken up by department heads and shared in an online meeting by the administrator of MISCUSI, in an open-dialogue session that breaks down all hierarchy.

Parties & Team Building

MISCUSI is also about celebrations and fun, and as such a budget has been allocated for each team across the restaurants, so that at least two team-building activities are carried out each year; the choice of the activity is at the Store Manager's discretion. Once a year, however, the events team organizes the Christmas party, a day when the restaurants are closed to guests, and colleagues from all cities come together to celebrate the year that has just passed.

Work Organization and Family Support

The well-being of employees working in our restaurants depends largely on how work is organized, and at MISCUSI a fully customized portal has been implemented, specifically for shift scheduling; the employee, in fact, can request their days off, holidays, or leave directly from their phone, and receive immediate approval.
Moreover, the Store Manager is committed to sharing and communicating the work shifts at least two weeks in advance, aiming to ensure maximum stability for the workers. For all workers, the possibility to plan the annual vacation schedule is guaranteed, approved together with their supervisor, so as to grant all the time needed to arrange their private commitments.
Because thinking big and long-term is part of the family ethos, the Stock Option Plan is available in the company for Store Managers and HQ employees on permanent contracts, activated after an initial onboarding period.

Parenting support and inclusivity

A family, in any form, needs all the support it requires to feel secure. During the mandatory maternity leave period (2+3 months), MISCUSI commits to paying 100% of the salary, compared with the 80% provided by law (thereby covering the remaining 20%). For paternity, a more flexible use of leave is available, with no strict notice or duration requirements, and the paternity leave can be extended from 2 to 3 weeks, plus a €1,000 gross bonus for new parents.

Leadership and Training

To feel good about yourself, it's important to take care of your mind. That's why we've engaged professional coaches to spread the foundations of strong leadership to those who are responsible for a department. For anyone pursuing growth in people management, we share a questionnaire—the Predictive Index—an instrument used by leading international companies, designed to analyze individual needs and behaviors that form the foundations of each person's leadership.

Equal Opportunities and Inclusivity

Miscusi has long been committed to upholding equal opportunities, promoting a culture of fairness from the recruitment process, but never in a rhetorical way; for this reason, by 2024 it had already achieved the target set in 2023 for gender parity certification, with the support of the Libellula Foundation.

Volunteering and Sustainability

With the aim of supporting the community, together with its employees, MISCUSI has always promoted the culture of volunteering, offering to collaborate specifically with various associations that fight food waste, a cornerstone of MISCUSI's mission. Among the training activities within the M College portal, there are contents related to basic concepts of sustainability, nutrition, and healthy eating.
These contents, called “Good for you” and “Good for the planet,” aim to raise awareness among all employees about the benefits that MISCUSI's product helps deliver for people and the planet, thereby deeply linking people to the brand's mission.
